2014 GO GO Gala: “The Future of Philanthropy”
More than 260 guests turned out for the 7th Annual GO GO Gala on November 13 at the Montage Beverly Hills, raising an unprecedented 1.2 million dollars towards GO’s projects supporting orphans and vulnerable children worldwide. With a matching pledge from Beachbody that was then matched and expanded by the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, the evening raised more than any other GO GO Gala – an unprecedented 1.2 million dollars!
The Gala opened with a DJ performance by iconic artist Shepard Fairy and a welcome speech by director Adam Shankman, the evening featured an inspiring speech by Ruchira Gupta, anti-trafficking activist and founder of Apne Aap, and the audience stood on their feet as she was awarded GO’s Giving Opportunity Award. The night also featured a moving video about GO’s work to help at-risk children in Rishikesh, India, and a speech by GO local hero Marianne Diaz, founder of CleanSlate, about her successful crusade to empower youth to leave gangs in Los Angeles. An exciting live auction followed, led by Viveca Paulin-Ferrell. The festive night also featured musical performances by Masood Ali Khan and Sheela Bringi and a lively Bollywood dance performance by Karmagraphy.
We’re so grateful to the many people who contributed to making the night such a grand success and our hearts are warmed to know how many children will benefit because of it.
