Hamisi Omari Nzuki

Raised by this mother and his grandmother, Hamisi could only afford to attend school sporadically as a child. When he grew up, he wanted to help other children like himself and promised to dedicate his life towards helping the most marginalized and most vulnerable children in his community of Kifaru. Hamisi began to find sympathetic families who would volunteer to house and care for the vulnerable children he rescued. However, he soon realized that this method was insufficient to help the many children in need.

In 2014, Hamisi founded Linda Children’s Foundation. At the beginning, Linda Children’s Foundation worked with 6 girls and 5 boys. In two short years, it has grown to serve 39 vulnerable children. The Foundation’s orphanage gives children a safe home, sends them to schools, provides them with nutritious meals, equips them with vocational skills, and provides them with medical care. Ultimately, Linda Children’s Foundation seeks to ensure that all the children receive the same opportunities so they can be become healthy, successful adults.
