DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

GO Campaign seeks a full-time Development Manager who will be mission-driven, an initiator, and a creative problem-solver.  S/he will have proven fundraising capability; experience in building, managing, motivating, and working strategically with all stakeholders; experience with executing all aspects of event logistics, timetables, and communication with vendors, sponsors, and guests; and knowledge of event production elements. We are seeking a self-starting, detail-oriented, well-organized candidate with enthusiasm, creativity, a positive perspective, sense of humor, and can-do attitude—someone who can work at a fast pace in a deadline-driven environment.   This position is integral to the successful production of GO Campaign’s special events that take place throughout the year to support the achievement of GO Campaign’s annual development goals. This position is ideal for someone interested in growing their experience in nonprofit management, development, and events coordination.  This position reports to the Development Director. GO Campaign offers a full comprehensive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, and vision. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. THE ROLE

  • Monitor progress on achieving fundraising goals, keep accurate records, and regularly communicate progress to the Development Director
  • Partners with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure special events and other fundraising and awareness-building events meets healthy net contributed income goals
  • Oversee donor recognition process, including gift accounting and acknowledgment, pledge collection, creation of donor records, managing development computer system operations, donor stewardship, and reconciliation to the accounting department
  • Oversee administration of year-round online auction presence, including running monthly auction meetings, securing auction items, preparing items to be posted on-line and tracking payment
  • Analyzes the organization’s development data for trends, formulates assumptions, and recommends adjustments to fundraising goals
  • Participate in regular staff and other internal meetings
  • Perform other tasks as needed within a lean, multi-tasking staff-team structure
  • Act as an agency ambassador as and when needed to ensure a successful and positive donor experience

OVERVIEW OF EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute fundraising events, programs, and activities to ensure that GO Campaign events maximize net contributed income
  • Solicit in-kind donations of goods and services for use at special events (auctions, raffles, prizes)
  • Coordinates administration of all auctions (including live, silent, private & online) with donors
  • Responsible for coordinating creative design of events, working with event producers and other third-party vendors as appropriate
  • Manage event production for each special event with the staff of selected production vendor ensuring all details are fulfilled according to contractual obligations
  • Manage guest lists, RSVP’s, and acknowledgments for events
  • Manage the production of event-related communications, including sponsor packets, donation letters, invitations, program book, PowerPoint presentations, etc
  • Provide analysis to assist with budgeting, finances, and seek cost-savings to maximize net return
  • Lead event committee meetings; document all action items and communicate to respective people
  • Serve as staff liaison and point of contact for all event committee members
  • Recruit, coordinate, and train all volunteers
  • Responsible for overseeing production of event on event day, including set up, troubleshooting, and clean up.
  • Lead responsibility for all post-event wrap-up activities
  • Track and thank all event volunteers; responsible for growing volunteer base for events
  • Help cultivate contact with contributors, corporate sponsors, and business and community leaders
  • Collect and synthesize feedback from all event participants including committee members, staff, guests, volunteers, and production team; hold debrief meeting with key stakeholders to assess success of event and plan for following year
  • Extract data and create custom data reports from donor database to communicate to key stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience managing and overseeing special event and nonprofit development
  • Demonstrated past success at conceptualizing, articulating, managing, and executing a strategic full-cycle fundraising event plan; ability to get results and increase net revenue results year-over-year
  • Ability to understand and articulate the mission and vision of GO Campaign
  • Superior organizational skills and strict attention to detail a must; demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Work occasional nights and weekends when required
  • Serve as backup to the Operations Department for data entry, gift processing and mail support as needed
  • Ability to be focused, set priorities, and stay calm and measured in all situations; ability to be flex­ible and to manage different projects concurrently, sometimes under pressure
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, as well as superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and provide customer-centered service when dealing with colleagues, committees, vendors, donors, and volunteers
  • Database/CRM management experience required – eTapestry or another Blackbaud system preferred
  • Proficiency is expected with the most recent Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint; and a general comfort level with technology, including web sites and social networking
  • Limited time off around major fundraising events, especially September, October, and November
  • A valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance are required as well as access to (and permission to drive) an automobile for local travel

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are seeking a self-starting, detail-oriented, well-organized candidate with enthusiasm, a positive perspective, sense of humor, and can-do attitude—someone who is able to work at a fast pace in a deadline-driven environment. This position is critical to the ability of GO Campaign to provide life-changing support to grassroots programs for youth all over the world. This position is ideal for someone interested in growing their experience in nonprofit development and operations.  This position reports to the Operations Manager. THE ROLE

  • Responsible for donor recognition process, including gift accounting and acknowledgment, pledge collection, creation of donor records, and reconciliation to the accounting department.
  • Responsible for administration of year-round online auction presence, including preparing items to be posted on-line and tracking payment.
  • Administer donor database, including data input, maintenance of account files, changes to structure of data, creation of queries and reports. Assure data integrity of database.
  • Extract data and create custom data reports from donor database when requested.
  • Track all incoming donations and follow-up when necessary.
  • Maintain fund and fund descriptions, user defined fields, and create DIY donation forms in donor database
  • Assist, as necessary, in implementation of marketing and communications strategies, including continued development of website, newsletters and other promotional materials, social media outlets and reports for organization activities, programs, solicitations, and mailings.
  • Collection and distribution of mail twice a week (may be more frequent during events.)
  • Depositing checks and cash to the bank when necessary.
  • Monitoring office supplies and purchasing new supplies as needed.
  • Managing office inventory and responsible for the organization of our storage unit
  • Checking voicemails daily.
  • Monitoring daily tributes from donors
  • Assisting staff with IT or other needed office tasks as needed
  • Assist with administrative details associated with all Board meetings and Committee meetings as needed (i.e. prepare and distribute notices, agendas, minutes, etc.)
  • Work with Operations Manager for all post-event wrap-up activities
  • Participate in regular staff and other internal meetings.
