Construction of Two Schools

Results: Final Report

GO’s grant to Life and Hope Association (LHA) has allowed them to build two new school facilities in Siem Reap. The new five-classroom structure at SomRong High School will now offer both junior high and high school education and the new Bortdongkor Primary School facility will serve children who previously could not attend due to the capacity constraints. As a result, 1061 students who otherwise wouldn’t be able to continue their studies or would have their education delayed are now attending classes and will able to continue their education – that’s an increase of 50% in the first year alone! Schools are scarce in rural Cambodia, and those that do exist are often rundown or overcrowded. The school buildings are much needed and welcomed addition to the community.

Ms. Siv Srey Tha, a mother of a 3rd grade student, Tola, said, “I am very happy that there is a new school building installed in my village so our children can learn in a good and safe environment.”
