GO and Africa Schoolhouse built a 6-room health clinic that will serve six rural villages with a population of more than 1,500. It is common for children to become severely ill from treatable diseases because of lack of knowledge and the long distance to the nearest health post. But, this health clinic that is a stone’s throw from the school will help provide hundreds of children with access to vital health services, vaccinations and knowledge about how to treat basic symptoms before they become life threatening. And, the doctor and nurse, who will be paid by the government, will also help ensure pregnant women have safe deliveries and educate the community about family planning.
Construction is completed, medicines are lining the shelves and the villagers are eagerly waiting to see the doctor and nurse.
