Foundation Notre-Dame du Perpetuel Secours (FONDAPS)

In Haiti, the lack of rain often turns the FONDAPS fields into gravel. And with all the activity from hundreds of boys and girls playing soccer, the fields have become overused and difficult to maintain. In 2016, GO Campaign gave FONDAP a grant to purchase two compactors. Compactors smooth out the uneven surfaces on the field and create a firm, lasting surface that is crucial for the sport and the program.

Before these compactors, FONDAPS constantly had to rent compactors. These rentals were costly and the money could be better spent towards the youth. In addition to maintaining their own fields, the highly-in-demand compactors can help serve as an additional source of revenue for the program. In only a year, FONDAPS can potentially make nearly double the value of the equipment’s purchase price by generating $13,200 in income that will ensure the long term sustainability of the soccer program.
