Special Children Special Needs
Thanks to the support of the GO community, disabled children in Moshi, Tanzania were able to receive therapeutic care and support services needed to thrive. The mission of the Gabriella Centre is to provide support to children with disabilities at an early age so they can grow up and be productive members of society. Funds helped purchase therapeutic equipment for the children. They also helped improve short-term and long-term care services for children living at the Centre. Thanks to the support of the GO Community, 102 children benefitted from this project. The centre was most proud to share that awareness around issues of children’s welfare and disabilities increased, and the community was more accepting of these often-stigmatized children. There was more participation from families and caregivers to bring their children to the Centre for assessment and intervention. This resulted in more partnerships and collaborations with similar organizations who wanted to help children with disabilities.
