Treehouse Orphanage Income Generating Poultry Program

Results: Final Report

Thanks to the support of the GO community, an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya was able to make progress toward greater self-sustainability. This grant supported an income generating project benefitting the 36 children residing at Treehouse Orphanage in the slums of Nairobi. Funds were used to construct a ventilated coop and purchase 500 chickens. Eggs and meat produced were used to feed the children as well as sold at market. The income enabled Treehouse to take on additional children in need and have helped provide for the ongoing care of all the kids.
