Street kids in Kilimanjaro on the rise

My luggage may have been left behind in Nairobi, but I made it safely to Kilimanjaro to begin my 3 weeks of field work in East Africa.  And if it were  between the two of us, better that I should make it safely than my luggage – though I do hope the 3 giant duffel bags ultimately make it since they are filled with presents for the kids here.

As happy as I am to be here, it was sobering to learn that Moshi now has more kids living on the streets than ever before.  Not sure what the cause of this is, or what local activists are working to alleviate the problem, but I have 3 weeks to figure it out.

Stay tuned for that answer, as well as reports and photos from GO’s partners in Tanzania in Kenya in the weeks to come…
