Together, we've funded more than 600 grants, supported 233 Local Heroes, and impacted more than 471,000 children across 41 countries. Meet Irene

Twenty years ago, Irene’s mother Nakindya was one of the children who inspired GO Campaign's founding.Today, Irene is on track to become the first person in her family to graduate from high school.
A student at boarding school, Irene's education has been supported by a dedicated monthly donor who believes in the power of girls' education and chose to invest in her future year after year.

Meet Hezron
When Local Hero Keziah Mwaura first met Hezron, he had dropped out of school and was helping care for his younger siblings at just nine years old.
She saw something special in him and welcomed him to Gatanga Children's Center, where he began to thrive.
Years later, after overcoming immense challenges and completing medical school with honors, Hezron achieved his lifelong dream: becoming a doctor.
Today, Dr. Hezron is back in Kenya, ready to serve his community.
As we celebrate GO's 20th anniversary, his story reminds us of the extraordinary potential that can be unlocked when a child is given the opportunity to succeed.

Meet Thomas
Twenty years ago, Thomas Gabriel was one of the children living at Tunahaki Orphanage in Tanzania when GO Campaign founder Scott Fifer first visited.
The youngest of the children who traveled to the United States in 2006, Tom was known for his bright spirit and his incredible talent as an artist. Even then, he could often be found sketching and drawing. That passion for art stayed with him.
Today, Tom lives in Mwanza, Tanzania. Though he graduated from college with a degree in Agricultural Planning, he works as a self-employed freelance artist. Several of GO’s supporters have personally supported Tom’s art progress by supplying him with needed tools or by commissioning art from him.
As GO Campaign celebrates 20 years, stories like Thomas's remind us why this work matters. The children who inspired GO's founding are now adults building lives of their own, carrying forward the talents, dreams, and potential that were always inside them.

Meet Leonce
When Scott Fifer first met Leonce at Tunahaki Orphanage in Tanzania, neither could have imagined where life would take them.
Over the next two decades, their friendship—and Leonce's determination—helped shape a remarkable journey. From a childhood at the orphanage to high school in Hawaii, college in the United States, and now a career in media, Leonce has embraced every opportunity that came his way.
Today, he remains closely connected to Scott and the GO family that has cheered him on every step of the way.
