youth trip: guatemala city 2026

GO Campaign is thrilled to offer an exclusive volunteer immersion trip to Guatemala City, created especially for our youth community. Whether you’ve been a longtime leader on the Youth Advisory Board or you’re newly stepping into your GO journey, this experience is an opportunity to connect, serve, and see impact firsthand.

What You’ll Be Doing

For six days in early August (tentatively August 8–13), students will volunteer alongside Scott Fifer, GO Campaign’s Founder & CEO, participating in meaningful, hands-on activities including:

  • Assisting with English, music, and dance classes

  • Helping care for babies alongside the nannies

  • Spending time with children through play and outings (including a trip to the zoo)

  • Supporting daily life at the home in ways that matter most

Outside of volunteer hours, students will explore the city—visiting the central market, nearby museums, and experiencing the culture and cuisine of Guatemala City, a vibrant, high-altitude capital rich in Mayan history and modern creativity.

Our Partner on the Ground

For more than 24 years, GO Campaign partner Association to Eradicate Poverty has provided comprehensive care to children who have been abandoned or abused in Guatemala. Their holistic approach includes healthcare, shelter, education, legal advocacy, and psychological support—ensuring every child has the opportunity to heal and thrive.

We’ll be hosted by GO Local Hero Pedro de Leon at the organization’s property in Guatemala City, conveniently located just 20 minutes from the airport.

What’s Included

Each student will receive:

  • Airport transportation

  • Lodging

  • Daily breakfast and lunch

Dinner is at the student’s expense.

Cost per attendee: $1,000
(Airfare to Guatemala not included)

Important Details

  • Students under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian

  • Only 13 total onsite spots are available

  • Guardians may stay onsite or choose nearby hotels or Airbnbs

  • (Offsite lodging arrangements and costs are the guardian’s responsibility)
