The Lasting Impact of the GO Gala

Every year, the GO Gala brings together a community of changemakers—donors, Local Heroes, board members, and ambassadors—who unite for one purpose: giving opportunity to vulnerable children worldwide. The funds raised at the 2024 GO Gala are already hard at work, creating life-changing impact across the globe. From refugee settlements in Uganda to communities in Mexico and Southern California, the ripple effects of generosity are clear: together, we are transforming lives.

And this is just the beginning—we can’t wait to see what the 2025 GO Gala will bring.

Youth Empowerment in Adjumani

Partner: Voice for Humanity Uganda

Youth receive farming supplies from Voice for Humanity Uganda.

In Uganda’s Adjumani refugee settlement, where food shortages have reached a critical level due to aid cuts, GO Campaign awarded a grant to Voice for Humanity Uganda for their Youth Empowerment Project.

Local Hero David Elungat, himself a survivor of displacement and hardship, is leading 100 refugee youth ages 11–25 through agribusiness training and equipping them with animals to launch their own agricultural enterprises. This program is helping families combat hunger and restore hope for the future.

Expanding Transformative Programming to Xalapa, Mexico

Partner: Utopía

Youth participate in kickboxing program at Utpoía.

With GO Campaign’s support, Utopía expanded its programming to three communities in Xalapa, Veracruz. The initiative empowers children and adolescents to take charge of their futures through education, sports, and leadership, while also addressing family and community conflicts.

Beyond program expansion, Utopía is strengthening its organizational foundation—developing a fundraising department, diversifying revenue streams, and offering training on critical issues like child protection, children’s rights, and gender equity.

Impact Spotlight 3: Growing Sports and Wellness Programs in California

Partner: Los Courage Camps

Los Courage Camps Surf Lessons and Community Event

Thanks to the GO Gala, Los Courage Camps has been able to grow from a summer-only initiative into a year-round community organization. With a funded Community Manager in place, they’ve forged new partnerships—including a collaboration with the Ocean Institute—and recruited two board members who are advancing strategy and fundraising.

This strengthened foundation is allowing Los Courage Camps to offer surf camps, wellness activities, and community connections across Spring, Summer, and Fall—bringing consistency, growth, and belonging to the youth they serve.
