Twenty Years Later: Irene Is Poised to Become the First High School Graduate in Her Family (Copy)
A single gift can change a moment. A sustained commitment can help change the course of a life.
Irene’s mother Nakindya was just a child when GO Campaign founder Scott Fifer first visited Tanzania and met the children who would inspire GO's founding.
Today, Irene is on the verge of an incredible milestone: becoming the first person in her family to complete high school.
Currently attending boarding school, Irene recently returned home during a school break to spend time with her family—a reminder of how far she has come and how much possibility lies ahead.
Her journey has been made possible by a dedicated monthly donor who believes deeply in the power of girls' education and chose to support Irene's education year after year. Through that ongoing investment, Irene has been able to continue her studies and pursue opportunities that once seemed out of reach.
As GO Campaign celebrates 20 years, Irene's story is a testament to the life-changing impact of consistent support. One donor's commitment helped open a door. Irene's determination is carrying her through it.
Twenty years ago, they were children with uncertain futures. Today, they are artists, graduates, professionals, and changemakers. Their stories are still being written.
This GO Day of Giving, celebrate 20 years of impact with a gift of $20. Together, we can help write the next chapter for children around the world.
