Technology Literacy (Year 1)

Yolé!Africa | DRC

In 2011, GO Campaign provided 75 youth with access to Yolé!Africa’s curriculum. Grant funds were used to equip the community space with books, two computers, and internet access. A computer literacy curriculum was developed and the program was implemented with children in Goma.

Founded and led by Local Hero Petna Ndaliko, a Congoleses filmmaker, Yolé!Africa is a centre of art, creativity and cultural exchange with locations in Goma, Eastern DRCongo and Kampala, Uganda. Yolé!Africa seeks to promote and encourage art by supporting local artists and offering them a creative space. Through training, workshops and community events, it promotes dialogue and respect for others by empowering youth to think critically and act non-violently, as well as to stand up against all forms of oppression and human rights violations. Through debate and reflection on current social and political issues, they hope to instill in the youth that everyone has the right and duty to make their community a better place.
