In 2019, GO Campaign provided Youth Interactive with the support they needed to serve 145 youth in their program. Grant funds were used to support operational needs and were used to purchase new computers, printers, ipads, and other equipment for their tutoring program. Funds were also used to hire a business mentor to develop a comprehensive entrepreneurship curriculum Students in the tutoring program receive free, customized 1-to-1 academic support and mentoring. Support offered includes homework help, test prep, college application assistance, job shadowing, life skills classes, and more. Since 2017, 100% of YI’s students in the tutoring program have graduated from high school and gone on to higher education or vocational training programs.

Led by Local Hero Nathalie Gensac, Youth Interactive strives to equalize the opportunity divide for economically disadvantaged youth through after-school educational programs that create engaging opportunities for at-risk, low-income teens so they can realize their potential and thrive personally, academically, and professionally. Over the past five years, YI has created six youth-led, art-based micro-businesses that ignite the imagination and passion of underserved, disengaged teens. At YI, youth put their creativity and skills to work, build résumés, learn transformational entrepreneurial skills, gain financial literacy and obtain valuable life and work experiences while earning internship credits and a well-deserved paycheck!
