GO on the Ground: Ribbon Cutting at Our Sisters’ Opportunity
After visiting the Gabriella Children’s Centre in Tanzania, GO Campaign CEO & Founder Scott Fifer made his way to Rwanda for a very special milestone with our partner Our Sisters’ Opportunity (OSO).
Since 2022, OSO—founded by Local Hero Delphine Uwamahoro—has been empowering girls and women in northern Rwanda through vocational training in ethical fashion, entrepreneurship, and leadership. This month, the OSO community gathered to celebrate the grand opening of a new girls’ dormitory on campus.
Scott was honored to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and share the moment with students, staff, and the local community. As he stood alongside Delphine, he reflected on the incredible impact of one donor’s generosity:
“I’m near the opening ceremony, the ribbon cutting of the dormitory for Our Sisters’ Opportunity, supported by GO Campaign and in particular our donor, Craig Bachrodt, who heard the story about Delphine and wanted to do something in honor of his late mother. And look at what’s happened. Look what he’s created. There’s a dormitory for girls, and we’re at this site where once there was violence, but now girls are coming to learn and get their education. No more. Amazing. Amazing.” — Scott Fifer

A heartfelt thank you to GO Donor Craig Bachrodt, whose generosity made this dormitory possible. Because of Craig’s gift, girls who once had to walk miles each day—or risk unsafe conditions just to attend classes—now have a safe place to live and study on campus. This means more time for learning, more focus on their futures, and the security every student deserves.
This dormitory is more than a building—it’s a beacon of opportunity, dignity, and hope. It represents how one act of generosity can ripple out to transform a community for generations.
Stay tuned—Scott also joined OSO for their graduation ceremony, and we’ll be sharing more from that celebration soon!
